California Artist

Looming empty nest coincided with a fistful of major life changes. I decided to try my hand at painting, largely as a distraction from the ache that I knew was coming. My mother was also an artist and I enjoyed sharing this rich dimension to our relationship for several years before putting down my brush to take up a shared role as her caregiver.

After she was gone, painting became a way of processing both loss and growth, the challenge of the blank canvas an exhilarating invitation to push forward.

This gallery reflects a cross-section of my work in oils and acrylics. Many paintings have found a home but quite a few still adorn the spaces under my bed and in the garage. If you especially like one, please tell me about it. (Art is so personal: I love to hear what resonates and why.) It may be available or I may be able to send you a print. I also enjoy commission work when I have time—feel free to reach out with your idea.

Enjoy checking out the paintings and my blog . Want more? Be sure to sign up below or send me your comment/question from the contact page.
